MOVE AWAY FROM YOUR MARAH

WHAT IS MARAH?
Marah is that which brings unfulfilment to your Christian life.  David said “Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again and shall bring me up again from the depths of the earth.  Thou shalt increase my greatness and comfort me on every side” (Ps. 71:20-21).  God wants to comfort every Christian on every side.  He wants to give you a full blessing.  But not every Christians are enjoying this.  Marah stops God from operating in your life to full capacity.
Marah is something that stops you from launching into the fullness of the blessings of God.  Marah is bitterness and everything about Marah is bitterness (Exo. 15:22-23).
Naomi had just returned to her Country (Bethlehem) after several years of staying in Moab.  Her fellow-citizens wondering at her accosted her and said ‘is this Naomi’?  Of course, they knew she was Naomi, after all she has not done plastic surgery.  But she replied out of the bitterness of her heart and said, call me not Naomi; call me Mara (Ruth 1:19-20).  The living bible translates Naomi as pleasant.  So Marah is that which brings unpleasantness to your life.  Marah blocks the vision of a man.  Marah stops you!  It hinders your growth in the Lord.
  
HOW DOES MARAH COME?
Marah can come through several means:
(1)    By your own doings.  If you fall into sin and you’ve repented whole-heartedly but you’re not sure God has forgiven you, you can dwell in Marah: you keep blaming yourself, and the spirit of self-pity keeps troubling you saying ‘Are you sure that God has really forgiven you?  And thus you’re moving round about in circles.
   
I sinned against the Lord during my undergraduate days in the University in 1992.  I repented sincerely and slept that night without being sure God has forgiven my grave sins.  God woke me up at about 3a.m. and I summoned up courage to go and praise the Lord.  Having praised God for about seventeen minutes on one of the fields on campus.  I opened my little Bible to render a song out of it, but I couldn’t read because of the darkness: the moon suddenly appeared in its full brightness shining directly on my Bible and me.  And as I was leaving the filed (having sung the song) the moon suddenly disappeared behind me.  Then God said to me “Unto the upright ariseth light in the darkness’ (Ps. 112:4a): That experience changed my life for better. But you need not see an angel before you believe his words! Be loosed from the grips of self-pity!  As long as you have confessed and forsaken your sins you can be sure God has forgiven you.  I
write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.  And I also have to let you know that God shall wound the head of his enemies and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses (1Jn. 2:12, Ps. 68:21).
   
God does not want His people to abide in Marah.  As recorded in Numbers 33 verses 1-8 paraphrased, you’ll discover the Israelites went out from Egypt with a high hand passing through Pihahiroth, Migdol and Etham.  When they afterwards got to Marah, they pitched there (Num. 33:8).  My friend, you need not pitch your tent in Marah if you know what Marah indicates.  God wants to move you away from Marah, because as long as you remain there, you will not be able to flow in the fullness of God’s blessings.  That’s why the bible says ‘Let all bitterness, and wrath, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice (Eph. 4:31).  If bitterness doesn’t have an ill effect upon you.  God will not put that Scripture there, okay.


(2)    Marah can also come as a result of your experiences in life.  May be your business is not moving fine.  Do you know God allows the devil to have his way at times to test our love for him?  My friend, are you serving God because of what you’re enjoying as a result of serving him?  God wants to try your heart! Some of you have failed examinations many times over. Oh yes, some of you have suffered seeing the death of your child; and you begin to wonder if this God is really worth serving. Listen to me, Habakuk’s joy was not based on what he was enjoying from God (Habk. 3:17-18). The psalmist also experienced contrary things as recorded in psalms chapter 44 and was so to say discouraged. But can you hear him say in verses 17 to 19 … our heart is not turned back. Neither have our steps declined from thy way. My friend. When things are working contrary will you draw back from following the Lord?


(3) Marah can also come through others.
Woe unto the World because of offences! For it must needs be that offence come: but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! (Mt.18: 7). Do you know that a lot of people have given themselves to the devil … even in the household of God (1 Tim. 5:15)? Judas Iscariot yielded himself to the devil to betray Jesus. Bible says in Luke chapter 22 verse 3 that ‘then entered Satan into Judas’…. Verse 4 says And he went his way, and communed with the Chief priests and Captains, how he might betray him unto them. Judas never thought about the repercussion of what he was going to do; he just jumped into it… as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life (Prov. 7:23). In the same vein, we have such people in the household of God. People who are sources of temptation to their brethren. Oh yes, there are people who lead brethren into Marah… right in the midst of the Church. Are you such a one my friend? God wants to move you from
that place. A sister who is a nurse/midwife by profession shared with me her bitter experience in the hands of her mother-in-law. This sister was pregnant and while carrying this pregnancy the old woman got angry with her. And for no just cause used her evil power to terminate the pregnancy of her daughter –in – law. The pregnancy dropped and for good six years she couldn’t take in again. That experience can bring her into Marah. People can bring you into your Marah. But God does not expect you to stay in Marah.
 

Another sister told me how she made a blood covenant with her boyfriend when she was an unbeliever, vowing to marry each other. And on the premise of that covenant the lady used her influence to get him a Job. Lo and behold, the man became rich and abandoned her to marry someone else. Thank God the sister is a Christian now. But I like to emphasise that we’re human even though we are Christians. And there’s a way you can bring what happened in your past into the present. And that can bring you into Marah. Learn to forget the past. Let there be no remembrance of those former things (Eccl. 1. 11) God wants you to live in your TODAY. Forget about the worries of yesterday. Forget about the cares of tomorrow. Live a day at a time.


(4) Sad to say. Christians also can bring people into Marah. We that are supposed to be edifying ourselves. A lot of times by our actions/ utterance and behaviors step on each other’s toe. And these things ought not so to be. A lot of us also commit secret sins. You do as if the unbeliever out there doesn’t know you as a Christian. Probably you’re secretly committing fornication out there and you think nobody sees you. You may be doing some other notorious things in an environment where unbelievers are the only ones seeing you. When they see you do those things they may feel there’s no point for them to accept Jesus. ‘If a Christian can do this, how is he better than me’? Their heat says. I tell you, the reason why some husbands have not come to the knowledge of Christ is because of the wrong behaviors of their so – called Christian wives in our different homes. The reason why other members of your family have not received Christ is because
you’re not living to reflect the light of Jesus in your house. Don’t you know that we are spectacles unto the world and unto angels? And that a brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city?  (1cor. 4:9; Prov. 18:19). You cannot tell me that you’re a minister somewhere who committed fornication with someone’s junior sister. And you preached your sermon afterwards as you used to do (probably having repented). Even if fire comes out of your mouth while preaching the unbeliever will not believe you. They’ll just laugh you to scorn. Hence the need for us to be careful not to bring people into Marah.
       

Now what is God’s position about Marah?
1.    God doesn’t want you there. Look diligently … lest any root of bitterness springing up troubles you, and thereby many be defiled (Heb.12: 15).
2.    God will never help any Christian to get into Marah. Brother Paul wanted to launch into Marah. But God didn’t help him there. Our Lord Jesus (having saved Paul) wanted to send Paul somewhere as recorded in Acts chapter 22verse 17 to 21. There in verse 19 Paul remembered the kind of Atrocities that he had committed and hence was recounting these before the Lord Jesus. Obviously expecting Jesus to bring a blame upon him. But Jesus never talked about those past sins in his life. Jesus simply replied him ‘Depart….’. And I say unto you Depart!! Yes, depart my friend from thinking God could not have forgiven you because your sin was too great.
3.    God can take you out of Marah if you’re already there.


What are the side effects of Marah?
1.    A soul can be lost to hell forever as I shared earlier (Prov. 18: 19).
2.    One of the common side effects of Marah is that you lose appreciation for God. It becomes difficult for you to praise God and rejoice in Him as you used to do when you first received Christ. Complaints is characteristic of Marah. Can you imagine Israel murmuring against Moses because they found no water to drink (Ex.15.22 24)? They forgot about the past miracles God wrought for them. They murmured in defiance of the scripture which says Do all things without murmuring and disputings (Phil. 2:14).
3.    Marah also blocks the Vision of a man. I know a lot of Christians with zealous desires to mean much for God. But their vision became blocked because they dwelt in Marah. Lots of us have wonderful testimonies of the goodness of God to us. A man had an illicit sexual intercourse with a lady in 1984 while doing his N.YS.C. Program in Abuja. He contacted a veneral disease (chancre) that was gradually chopping off the tip of his genital organ. He suffered as the day went by until the Lord healed him in a Christian meeting without him using drugs. Oh how many of you out there have experienced God as such. You come to church every Sunday and when the altar call is given for you to be born –again you yet harden your heart. I pray you don’t run out of God ‘s mercy.
That brother refused to give his life to Christ despite the touch of God on him. And as he was walking along the street of Jericho in Ibadan when all of a sudden a snake came out of the bush and rose up to hit the shoulder of this 5feet 6inches tall brother. The snake wanted to strike him dead. There and then, he heard an audible voice speak to him “move 2 steps backward”. And I am sure God must have sent his Angel to succour him. He moved 2 steps backward and the snake fell down. The snake rose up in fury wanting to strike him again. And as he said, as that happened, he subconsciously uttered the phrase ‘In the name of Jesus’; and then the snake fell down and ran for its dear life. Now, could you believe that this man did not give his life to Christ until 1986 when after a Christian sister gave him a tract the Lord asked him ‘what else do you need’? So I am asking you the same question today. What else do you need? A lot of you don’t know
that even if God has not done such a great thing in your life the fact that you sleep and you wake up is a beautiful testimony. Bible says In Psalms chapters 3 verse 5 behold we sleep and we wake for the lord sustained us. If the lord has not been sustaining you probably the witches would have killed you. A lot of you feel pressed down on your bed. Oh yes, a lot you are being pursued by cows in your dreams, or someone wants to stab you in your dreams. And when they’re about getting you, you just wake up, and you think its ordinary! You better accept Christ before they finally get you down.
The testimony of the brother above is quite beautiful. But I tell you, whatever God has done in your life, if you dwell in Marah for a single moment your vision will be blocked. That’s why God does not want you to dwell in Marah.
Now let me show you an example from the Scriptures. Turn with me if you will to read Genesis 21 verse 14 to 19. Well you may not understand what happened herein until you read Genesis chapter 16 verse 4. We are talking about Hagar. If you read subsequent verses up to verse 8 you will find that the angel of the Lord came unto Hagar and spoke to her. Now listen to me, a lot of you have experienced wonderful things in your lives as Christians. Oh yes, there’s been many times the Holy Spirit has spoken powerfully to you and you have waved off his word, when he’s passing across a hard message to you. Hagar’s experience was different. She came into contact with the raw manifestation of the power of God. In those days, it was a spectacular thing for anybody to see an angel. But Hagar saw these things. The angel of the lord said unto her in verses 11 and 12:
Verse 11: Behold thou shalt bear son… Verse 12: And he will be a wild man……
For the angel to have said he will be a wild man, it means the child couldn’t have died at age 14 because God said he would be a man. That’s why God is always careful in promising a lot of us because he will want to assess your Christianity. He will try your heart many times to see how faithful you are. So that when he promise you a Mercedes Benz in the next two weeks. You don’t go into sin on the basis that God had said. Because God cannot fail so you think you can sin a little. His promises will always be fulfilled. I tell you. God will want to see what kind of person you are. So God said…. This child will be a man. So, nothing could have made it to fail because it is his word. But because Hagar dwelt in Marah for some moment of time. Her vision was blocked. She forgot all about the promises of God. Who told her that that child was going to die when the water was spent in the bottle? And she was there crying bitterly against God. Now, notice in
verse 17 that God didn’t attend to Hagar’s cry … but God instead heard the voice of the lad.
Probably it’s because you’re dwelling in Marah that God has not healed you despite the fact that countless ministers have prayed for you. Maybe if you from your heart release the fellow you're nudging bitterness against you’ll be healed without anyone praying for you. So God heard the voice of the lad, and, called unto Hagar out of heaven to re-emphasize his promise. God subsequently opened Hagar’s eyes to see water (Gen. 21:19). I tell you. There is no way your eyes can be opened to the provisions of God as long as you dwell in Marah. You will just be there, complaining and grudging. That is why the Bible says in job chapter 17 verse 7 ‘my eyes are dim because of sorrow’ .Are your eyes dim? Is your vision blocked? Psalms chapter 6 verse 7 also says Mine eye is consumed because of grief? Marah is responsible for the dimness of the eyes of Christians. They cannot see too far. They cannot launch into the depths with God. Have you, or, are you
pitching your tent in Marah? God wants you to get out of there today.
Now what happens to the person that brings you into Marah? Do you remember what happened to Korah when he rebelled against Moses out of bitterness (Num.16: 1-4)? Probably some of you have been wondering why a brother you’re so to say better than, has been selected to lead the Worship in your church. Oh yes, you’ve been hurt to see brethren that are not as good as you being offered to preach instead of you, and you begin to nudge bitterness against them. Korah did that and got judged by God for his actions. My friend, if someone brings you into Marah, allow God alone to sit as judge. God thus judged Korah as the earth opened up to swallow him alive (Num: 16:33).
Listen to me brother, grudge not one against another, lest ye be condemned,  … for where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work (James 5: 9, 3:16) Probably because of your dwelling in Marah when someone in your compound offends you, and you see the clothing of his children upon the line when it’s about to rain, you just take your own and go inside your room. As far as you are concerned, if rain beats the hell out of those clothes, you’re not moved. Simply because you’re offended. God doesn’t want you to do that. Are you listening?

NOW WHAT DO WE DO?
God expects you and I to move into our Elims (Num 33:9) My friend. God wants to move you to the place of his abundance if you will move away from Marah today. Israelites were the ones looking for water in Exodus 15 and they got bitter water. But here in Elim they not only found water, but they had plenty of them: they had abundance. They had supernatural comfort. Will you also move away from your Marah today? Allow God to have his way in your heart so he can launch you into your Elim. One of the reasons I think God does not open our eyes to see what goes on in the spiritual realm is so as not to draw us into Marah. To some of you who are oppressed, probably that’s the reason why a lot of times you are oppressed in your dreams, God doesn’t open your eyes to see the witch responsible for your problem. Because he knows if he does, you will count her as an enemy and take the battle to the physical. Lot of times God fights the battle for us in the
spiritual realm without us being conscious of it. Now, most people will never get to where God wants to take them if they don’t watch how they speak.  A brother who was to be employed in the oil sector brought news of his employment to his family, and was telling his wife of their imminent move to the Eastern part of Nigeria from their Northern abode. Their housemaid (who was a queen of the coast in the spirit realm) overheard their conversation and simply went and placed a stone upon his employment letter in the spirit realm. And so till today the brother’s employment letter never surfaced … and he lost the job. Will you be careful about your utterances? Will you ask God to help you tame your tongue? There are some things God will never allow you to speak. That’s why the Bible says in Hebrews chapter 6 verse 3…. And this will we do, if God permit. I tell you, there are certain things that God will never permit a believer to say. He that hath
knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding  (Proverb 17: 27 – 28). A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snares of his soul (Proverb 18:7). Are you in Marah my brother? Please remove from there right now! One of the practical ways of getting out of Marah is to meet those who grieved you and settle your differences.  May God help you as you do  so.

                    YOU NEED TO HEAR GOD SPEAK TODAY

Oh lord speak to me, I need to hear from you. Show me what next to do! The scripture says ‘the stock in heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the Judgment of the Lord’ (Jer 8:7). Now what is this Judgment that is being referred to? It is the opinion God gives you on the subject matter. It is God’s view expressed to you at the point in time.

Oh yes, it is the secrets of God made available to you as a child of His… Because to every purpose there is a time and Judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him (Eccl.8: 6-7).

If you read John chapter 2, verses 1 to 5, you’d discover that there was no wine in a marriage feast. And we’re told that Jesus made water wine. But before that, the mother said something, which is significant in these last days. She said ‘whatsoever he saith unto you, do it’ (Jn.2: 5). But how about if you don’t hear anything to do? Suppose you don’t hear anything! If you don’t hear anything, and you are just doing anything, it will not work in the next few years.

Because God is becoming much more sharp in making sure that his children obey His commandments, and that they listen to Him every time. Look through the church, you’d find that in the church, not too many people listen to the voice of the Lord. They just go on! Any business, any friend, anywhere, anyhow, anytime, anyplace; but let me tell you that that has come and is terminating because God wants a people that hears his voice and obey.

Listen to me, you can no longer remain careless… to do what you want, to go where you will want, it’s not possible! You need the guidance of God in everything that you do. And I believe God is zeroing in on this factor in the church. Not just to memorize Bible; not just to follow ‘well, this is what they teach in our church’; but to also be able to get to such a place that you’re not taking a wrong step in your life tomorrow morning. Now, there are a lot of things that the church does, but many of them are many times not approved by the Holy Spirit. No matter how the pastors and the elders colour it in their languages; very soon they’ll soon find out that this project won’t work. Why? Because it is not of God!

Listen to me; this world is too big for the best genius to be able to locate his way… that’s why you need supernatural guidance. Why don’t you begin from now to seek the judgment of the Lord in all you do? You need to hear his voice. You need to understand the mind of the spirit. You need to know what he wants done Now.

What is his heartbeat now? What does he want you as a believer to do about your current problem that has no verse and no scripture for reference? How about the question you are asking that has no teaching that is already given you in the church? How do you answer the question that you are asked in the street? How do you contextualize the word of God to an unbeliever you have never met before? The solution(s) to the entire problems men encounter in life are embedded in the judgments of God. And I tell you these judgments most times are not readily available… they are exclusively secret things which only the Almighty reserves the right to keep… and you, through desire and earnest delight in His counsels can find out (Ps.111:2).

Secrets are very vital to success. Every outstanding business has its trade secrets. So every outstanding Christian must necessarily possess covenant secrets… because, wisdom is better than strength; wisdom is better than weapons of war (Eccl. 9:16,18). And what is wisdom? …. Whosoever heareth these saying of God, and doeth them… (Matt. 7:24). So how much of those sayings you have and how much of those saying you put to work determines how high you fly. God said my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…not for plenty of devils (Hos. 4:6). There is no witch that is against you, it is ignorance that is tormenting you. Remember, there is no mountain anywhere; every man’s ignorance is his mountain. It is not time and chance that is happening to you, it is ignorance and darkness. That’s why you need God to lighten up your darkness.

 

2.   Why do you need to hear God?

Behind the distinction of the end time church is vision. And what is vision? Vision is the delivery of divine plan as it relates to you. When pursued, it becomes your ministry…that is, standing in the place where God has put you. And that is not just preaching. It occurs in diversities of businesses, careers, vocations and callings. In a calling, there is a future, and that explains the reason why you need to seek God to find your own. May God’s great vision for your life become plain today. The word says ‘they shall walk everyone in his path ... they shall march everyone on his way, and they shall not break their ranks…and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded’ (Joel 2:8,7), that means, they shall be invincible. They shall be too strong to be defeated…by reason of vision in which they are walking.

The earlier you locate your place the faster your colour is restored. Locate God’s way for you. You are not a creature of chance; your manufacturer designed you for a purpose, the earlier you discover that purpose the better for you. This is one vital secret to your own place in this super-success army. Visions are parts of the outpourings of the end-time to locate each one in God’s great army. God has a path and a way for you, locate it. I tell you, your destiny is tied to God’s purpose for you.

      Thank God for education, thank God for training, thank God for intellectualism, thank God for exposures; oh yes, thank God for every connections you have; but nothing compares with vision in value. The colour of your destiny is tied to the vision of God for your life. Scripture says …the land before them shall be like the Garden of Eden (Joel 2:3). And I say, God wants to take you out of the wilderness to the garden from where man was driven away. I mean, back to the garden of supplies, the garden of splendor, the garden of fulfillment, the garden of dominion, back to the garden of honour and glory. When? When you locate his way and abide in His path for you.

      Without vision you’d just be a struggling Christian. You’ll just be struggling…for who is he that speaks and it comes to pass when the Lord commanded it not (Lam.3: 37). Many have been enslaved by their occupation. Others have been enslaved by their education. Some have been camped by their certificates. Until you locate God’s will for you, you do not matter much in this kingdom. God is not a thoughtless God, he has a purpose in mind for you; you must find it (Jer.29: 11). Your future is tied to your discovery of God’s plan. God has a plan!

       There are many of us today that will excel in one area of business. Until you find that area of business, you would keep struggling. Business is just not business; ministry is not just ministry, there are different kinds. Oral Robert has never pastored a church. Kenneth Hagins never founded a church  (RHEMA church is Ken. Junior’s ministry), and do you know that Hagins has not stopped traveling, ministering up till now?

        I tell you, we have come to the age of vision with precision. You are there in the center of the center of the will of God; not just hanging around, not just preaching, not just trading! Ask somebody and say ‘I heard you’re going into business, what business is it? He replies, any one’.

        Look, when I was a child, I spoke as a child…what is anyone? (I Cor. 13:11). Anyone is no one. You don’t know where you are going! Isaiah said, ‘I heard a voice say to me cry, (Is.40: 6). Not just I’m sent to preach… to preach what? Many people don’t know what they are sent to preach; so, they’re all over town making all manner of noise and going nowhere. Because they don’t have a message so they cannot be qualified messengers. They can’t settle somewhere with a message; I mean, if you don’t have the message, what do you tell them when you get there?

         Friends, we are in the age of vision with precision. Why must you die a struggler? You are a bright and morning star after the order of Jesus. Locate where you belong and abide there. Many people in business have been ordained to go into production by the Almighty God, but they won’t. They instead want supplies from the Federal Ministry of Agric.; they line up for 20 years, not one ‘supply’ comes. The only one they get hereafter, they have to jump through the window to get the money … simply because they are not on their ways!

Look, when you get to your way, you are unstoppable! When you land on your path, every devil bows to you. Without vision, you will die in frustration; you now need to sit down and invest time to know where you are going. Not every open door is God’s door. Many are trapped in disguise. Habakkuk said ‘I will set me upon my watch… and I will stand to see what he will say unto me… And the Lord said … Write the vision’ (Hab. 2:1-2). Brethren, it takes time to Locate this. It doesn’t jump at you; people go to enquire for it. Pray asking God today… which way Lord? Where are you asking me to turn? Where do I put this $100, 000 so it won’t go the way the others went? Oh that you know where you may find God! That you may come to his seat! That you may order your cause before him and fill your mouth with arguments… so you may know the words with which he would answer you, and understand what he would say… concerning your very situation (Job

 23:3-5), that is Christian maturity; you need to settle down to it. You are unstoppable, unmolestable, and irresistible in His plan. Maybe you are out of His plan, that’s why you’re out of peace.

There is something they call talent. It is also called divine endowment. But God is not committed to talent. He gave them talents, and each one went and traded with it. Talent draws on man’s ability to deliver, but God is committed to Callings, which are products of visions. Faithful is he that calleth thee… makes a visionary superior to a talent trader. The talented has to be committed to it by himself to determine what he delivers. But a visionary has divine backing for his results. That’s why you can’t settle down with talents, you must locate your calling in God. Locate the areas he has designed you to fill so that you will not fail.

Look at the word ‘I Will’ used by Habakkuk in chapter 2 vs. 1. You’ll discover it is a personal conscious adventure. It is your will that will provoke the release of his Will. God will when you Will. You don’t stumble on visions, you make enquiries for it. Revelations are impotent when you’re out of vision; for what is speed going to do when you are on a wrong road? It takes you farther from your destination. Vision has a guaranty on it… though it tarries; it shall surely come to pass.

I tell you friends, God’s plan is indestructible when discovered and pursued. Abraham saw a vision at 75, and God made a name out of him at age 75. So you are never late as long as you’re breathing. God showed Abraham what to do, and when he went after it, God’s commitment was proved. Listen to me, you have been too committed, all you need now is God’s commitment. You have struggled enough, just come and locate where you belong; when once you found it… then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

 

3.  How do I hear God you may ask?

(a) You must first settle the question of sin. Secrets are of God, when they are revealed, the benefits belong to us (Deut. 29:29). Every secret of God carries benefits, and you cannot take delivery of the benefits until the secrets are REVEALED AND APPLIED. Secrets begin with righteousness; for they that are without are in parables but they that are within have access to secrets…. For without are dogs and all that loveth and maketh a lie (Rev. 22:15). So when you’re in those things, you are without. The best you can have no matter how rigorous you study are stories. But when you’re inside here, inside stories (God’s secret) belongs to you. The first man was given control over all things. Sin dethroned him, righteousness will enthrone you. If you don’t have bitter hatred for sin, you won’t have a place in God’s army.

 

(b) It is through the Holy Spirit that your spirit man locates secrets. He searches the inward parts of the belly, and the belly is the residence of the Holy Spirit… for out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38-39). And the Holy Spirit is the mind of God… for no man knows the things of man save the spirit of God that is in him; even so the things of God knoweth no man but the spirit of God (1 Cor. 2:10-11). So the Holy Spirit knows all the things of God and relates with your spirit to deliver those secrets so they can be obtainable and available to you. Now listen to me, I cannot overstate your need to run away from all sins so as to maintain a very sound health programme for your spirit, because if your spirit is sickly it becomes ineffective. Just like headache is a sickness of the body, sin is a sickness of the spirit. If you are a liar, you are tormenting your spirit man, and he is on admission, he can’t do any research.

 Your spirit man has a research ministry to you … to search the inward parts of the belly.

    No researcher, no matter who employed him, whether World Bank or local bank; if he’s sick and on admission in the hospital, do they bring the library there? Or do they put him on a stretcher and carry him to the Oxford University library? So when your spirit man is sick, he can’t locate anything. 

And I tell you there are many people in church today who are on spiritual admission.  Their spirit man is undergoing a spiritual killer disease.  All they have is something here in the mind, there’s nothing on the inside.  So, they can’t locate anything.  Preach anything, they close their bible, they open it, it is blank!  They can’t see anything, because their spirit man is on admission, and no longer on duty.  It’s been made sick with lies and immorality.  It’s been made sick with deceit and gossips.

    Until God touched the mouth of Isaiah with a life coal and said your iniquity is passed over, he had no access to God’s plan.  It was after that he said he heard ‘the voice of the Lord’ saying ‘whom shall I send, and who will go for us’? To which he replied ‘here am I; send me’ (Is. 6:1-8).  You are not qualified for vision from God until your iniquity is passed over, except of course you want deception from the pit of hell and not vision from God.  Many are being tortured today because what they call vision is delusion from Satan.  God’s pattern has not changed.

    Can a dead man hear anything?  When you live in worldly pleasures, you are dead while yet you live (1 Tim. 5:6).  So, when you‘re meddling with sin you‘re blurring your vision, you are deafening your ears and blinding your eyes.

4.    Hearing God is a continuous adventure.  That’s why Paul said ‘I will come to visions and revelations’ (1 Cor. 12:1).  He saw one on the way to Damascus.  He didn’t stop there … because when vision ceases, struggles resume. 

    Every genuine enquiry delivers a vision.  Joel chapter 2 verse 28 says … your young men shall see visions.  Not that they shall see for them, but, they shall see visions themselves.  So, you don’t need to award it as a contract.  Come-on, go and see your own!

    Many Christians are committed to Jesus, living a life of holiness, but they are out of phase with God’s vision for their lives.  Yours doesn’t have to be like that.  Seek God till he gives you his judgment.  If God shows it and he gives the signal of the timing, you are okay, just move ahead.  He knows what to do.

    Finally, may I say until God commands a thing there’s bound to be struggle (Lam. 3:37). When Ezekiel prophesied as commanded, there was no struggle, the bones returned to themselves (Ezek. 37:4-7).  So, invest quality time dear friend to find out what God will have you do.  When you locate God’s commandment, it is called vision, when that vision is pursued, there will be no struggle.  I see you free from every struggles of life from today in Jesus name.

      FEAR NOT (Part 2)

God who cannot lie says he has not given you the spirit of fear. My friend, why then are you afraid? Who will not be afraid? It is only the person that knows the Lord… and this goes beyond being born-again or speaking in tongues! God wants you to know him!! If you read Jeremiah chapter 9 verses 23 and 24, in the amplified version of the Bible, you will discover that God is delighted when you know him as the Lord. When he is around you, you feel absolutely secure. He that keeps the commandment shall feel no evil thing (Eccl. 8:5). Why? Because the Lord will be there with him always… and God’s presence among all other benefits means security.


The Lord says in Isaiah 33:13 “Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might”. What is might? It is force, potency, vigor, great and impressive power or strength. When trouble comes your way to make you afraid, you will burst into laughter if you remember how mighty the Lord is. Prophet Elijah demonstrated this knowledge when he was faced with a situation that could make him afraid. According to 2 kings 11:2-13, the Lord sent Elijah to tell king Ahaziah that he would die in his sickness. The king thought that the best way to deal with the situation was to send soldiers to bring Prophet Elijah. What do you think Ahaziah will do with Elijah when the soldiers bring him? Have a tea party with him before he dies? Elijah commanded fire to fall and it destroyed 102 army personnel that were sent to apprehend him… until the captain of the last batch of 50 approached Elijah with caution, and begged him to spare his life and that of the fifties. He begged despite the fact that they were armed! Bro Yinka, how do you know that they were armed? My bible tells me that soldiers were sent to Elijah on three occasions, and if we assume that they did not go armed the first time, common sense dictates that the second set of soldiers will go armed. So, despite their dexterity, numbers, and display of ammunitions… Elijah knew the Lord and demonstrated that he was not afraid! You don’t have to call fire down to destroy your enemy… but you can command whatever is making you afraid to be still… and you can only do this when you know the Lord as the ALMIGHTY!

Oh yes, when you know him as the everlasting burning, who commands the sun, and it rises not; and seals up the stars, who alone spreads out the heavens, and treads upon the waves of the sea; who makes Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south, who does great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number (Job 9:7-10). In 2 kings 6:14- 20, we read that the Aramean king sent horses and chariots and a strong force to capture Elisah by night, and this made Elisha’s servant to be afraid. In verse 17, Elisha prayed that the Lord will open the eyes of his servant to see the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. God may not open your eyes to see the angel assigned to you so that you won’t be afraid as Manoah was when he saw the angel sent to his wife (Judges 13:2-22). How I wish you will recognize that angels are around you where you are right now. How I wish God can open your eyes when he is on duty for you. Come on; acknowledge God’s might and the rest of your fears will be history!!!

According to Mathew 19 : 16-22, a man walked up to Jesus ‘’and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’’ to which Jesus replied…’’ if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’’ The guy confidently retorted that he has been keeping the law since he was a child. Thank God he was sensible enough to ask Jesus the question in verse20 saying ‘’ what lack I yet?’’. In verse 22, When Jesus told him what to do to be perfect, the guy went away sorrowful. Tell me, do you really want to be free from fear, oh married one? Can I tell you the hard truth?

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. Tell your husband that two out of the children you claim he fathered actually belonged to the man you slept with outside of your marriage. Oh yes, my brother, tell your wife about those extra-marital affairs you have had, and declare how many children you have outside of your marriage. Stop wishing that your spouse won’t find out about your unfaithfulness! You have licensed the devil to torment you as long as your evil deeds remain hidden, and you know what? …’’Fear hath torment (1 John 4:18)’’ I know the Lord has forgiven your grave sins. I know you are determined never to be unfaithful again, but, if you will be perfect, if you will ever be absolutely free from your tormentors… expose the devil….confess your fault to your partner.

I can hear you saying ‘my husband will divorce me if I do’; that is possible, but that is not the total truth. The moment you determine in your heart and prayerfully tell the Lord that you want to make amends… God himself will go ahead and prepare the heart of your spouse before you confess to your spouse, and the end for you will be sure peace of mind. I see you free from every hand of your tormentors as from today in Jesus Name.

                                               FEAR NOT (Part 1)

About 2 years ago, I was invited to witness the 7^th anniversary of a Pentecostal church situated in the city of Brussels, Belgium. One of the members of the church who was a dramatist had been given a slot to come and perform; obviously he did not tell anyone what he`s going to do. The guy just dressed awkwardly and ran into the midst of the church. People almost froze on their seats!

There was palpable fear, right in the midst of the church. I think the church should be a place of refuge; when some people in government commit atrocity, they run into another country’s embassy. Likewise, the church is supposed to be a place you run to when there is a problem and you have security, but that is not what is happening today. There is fear in the heart of men and women and God does not want you to be afraid. I don`t know what your fear is; there is a fear of death, there are so many fears. I am not here to define fear for you. But I am here to tell you that God does not want you to be afraid. I want to tell you some reasons, maybe two specifically, why you don`t have to be afraid.

One of the major reasons why Jesus came to the earth is to deliver men ‘’who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (Hebrew 2:15).’’  So, that`s one of the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ, He came to deliver those who have been subject to fear. So, you don`t have to be afraid.

Secondly, I don`t think any of us wants to go to hell fire.  That place wasn`t created for you and I. The bible says in Matthew 25:41 that hell was created for the devil and his angels. Why would a handsome man like you desire to go to hell with the devil? That place was not prepared for you and I, but unfortunately some people will go there. One of the people that will go there is a fearful person. I don`t care whether you are a Christian or not, if you are fearful, you will go to hell.

Someone might say, bro Yinka you are preaching heresy. Turn with me to the book of Rev. 21:8, there you will find 8 categories of people that will rot in hell. Number one on the list are the fearful! I don`t care what makes you afraid. God is looking for the David of our today who will slay the Goliath disturbing the peace of the nations. There are many Goliaths today and unfortunately the Church is not ready to conquer Goliath. That`s why the Church is still in the state it is today; but God wants you and I to move forward. God wants you to challenge your Goliath with awesome boldness! Oh, so many in the church are already turned aside after Satan (1Tim 5:15), so they cannot be bold.

You don’t have to be afraid, no matter what happens; I don’t care what kind of fear it is. Fear not my friends! The bible says in Ps 23:5 that ‘thou prepareth a table before me in the presence of my enemies’. Where is the table?  In the presence of your enemies, and it is a continual thing. So, if you are afraid you cannot eat out of it.

God will not because of you change His modus-operandi. That promotion, that next victory, that thing you have been asking God for, God has put it on the table for you, but your enemies are around the table. The next time God wants to bless you, he will make sure your enemies are there and they will be put to shame if you are bold enough to claim what belongs to you. But, if you are afraid you can`t even reach it, not to talk of possessing your possessions. I know some of us can pray that our enemies fall down and die, tell me how many of them have died since you started that prayer. Set your heart right today, no matter the circumstances, no matter what happens, I will not be afraid.

Causes of fear

Oh ‘The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites (Is. 33:14).’ The number one thing that causes fear is sin. I want to take you to the book of Genesis when Adam and Eve sinned against God. The Bible says in Gen. 3:8 that God was ‘walking in the garden in the cool of the day.’  He came one day and said, Adam, where are you? ‘’I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself’’ replied Adam. The same voice that Adam had been hearing and cherishing was making him afraid. “Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood (Pro. 30:33)’’… and I say, surely sin bringeth forth fear. 

If you want to eliminate fear in your life, don’t play with sin. That’s so simple and what is sin? Sin is anything you do that the Holy Spirit frowns at.

The righteous is as bold as a lion but the second part says, the wicked flee when no one pursueth.  Please don’t stay in the category of the wicked ones.  Don’t be afraid.  Nothing ought to make a child of God afraid, if he knows what he is doing.   If you know who you are, you will never, never in your life for one moment entertain fear. You say, you pray, oh yeah you pray, but why are you still afraid.  What is making you afraid?  Search deep into your heart. The Bible says in the book of proverbs that it’s only the wicked man that does not know what makes him to stumble (Pro. 4:19).  If you have the Holy Spirit, you will know what the cause of your fear is.

Fear comes by what you hear/see

Romans 10: 17 say “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’’, and I put it to you strongly today, that “fear comes by hearing, and hearing by the words of the devil.” You say bro. Yinka, but this is not in the Bible. Do you remember the story of the Syrian army that the Lord made to hear a noise of chariots in 2King 7:6-7 that fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life?.  They ran away when nobody was pursuing them. You have to re-orientate your hearing to hear the voice of the Lord.  Stop listening to the devil. Let’s open to Lamentation 3:51 “Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city”.  So, what you see has a way of affecting your heart.  The devil motivates a lot of ladies nowadays to walk half-naked on the streets, and prompts gullible men to lust after their open breasts as if they kept something there.  The same devil that keeps loose ladies in bondage is responsible for the bondage of men lusting after them.  “Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings today. Jesus was walking on the sea, and Peter, one of the very forward disciples, saw the master, and said, ‘’Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water’’ to which Jesus replied ‘’come.’’ Oh what a fantastic experience, “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me (Mat. 14:30).” He saw the wind boisterous, and what he saw, affected his faith. You have to discipline your eyes, some people have itching ears, cho, cho, cho, cho, cho even things that do not concern them, the ‘’amebos (talebearers)’’ wants to hear.

Effect of fears

What are the effects of fear?  Fear limits your progress. There are lots of people who have potentials in their lives but because they have lived in fear for so long, their potentials remain buried hitherto.    God wants to awake that today. You are meant to be an achiever; oh yes, you can prosper in that business. You can achieve that very thought that God has put in your heart.

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap… therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing. (Eccl. 11:4; Pro. 20:4). Go ahead and do what the Lord prompts you to do, and stop questioning how the thing will prosper. Whether the rain will fall or not or how the seeds will germinate should not be a farmers business… common go and plant your seeds and let God do his business of making your seeds grow out of the ground. Whatsoever the Almighty God puts in your heart to do, please do it quickly; and stop limiting yourself. Stop imagining the impossibility of that project. That’s not your business!

Your fears affect others.  There was a great famine in Samaria as recorded in the book of Kings 6:25-30, to the extent that women were eating their children, but there were 4 lepers that distinguished themselves because they were not afraid.  I believe you are familiar with the story. In that cultural setting, the lepers must not go into the city.   But they did something fantastic, which the scripture recorded in 2 places.  First, they decided to go to Syria, not minding if they will be killed there.  They took that step of faith.  I want to challenge you too, don’t look at the circumstances, don’t look at the impossibility that they have interwoven in the area of your next adventure, to make it a no go area for people like you.  Champions are consequence darers who loved not their lives unto the death (Rev. 12:11).  March on, my friend. So, they marched on, they went to that place and were amazed to discover that there was plenty of food there.   As most men will do, they first relished in their discovery until they were satisfied… but, at the end of the day they went to announce to the king their discovery of abundance. What do you think will happen if the lepers entertained fear? The inhabitants of a whole city will die of famine.  If the lepers didn’t take the good news to Samaria, it means the Samaritans will eat themselves until there was nobody left to eat.  I prophesy deliverance to those that God has ordained to lift you out of your present situation, and I release them from every form of fear in Jesus Name. So, when you are afraid, your fear can cause delay to others, and you can endanger the life of others. The world wants to know this Jesus, they want to see his power, ‘For the earnest expectation of the creature, waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19)’. That is the reason why the Lord does not want the church to be afraid.  Just imagine how many people would have been ruined if these guys did not forget their limitations. They damned the consequences of what may befall them seeing that lepers must not come into the city, boy, they went against all odds, and you know what? Their deformity was not recognized when they brought the good news.  Don’t be afraid my friend. The world is waiting for you to show forth…common go and do your own exploit!
